Improving health and wellbeing equity in Aotearoa New Zealand since 2019.
"We are no ordinary grantmaker. We don’t just give out money – our point of difference is that we form long-term partnerships with people and organisations tackling challenges and work to support these communities." – Jenny Gill, MAS Foundation Chair.
Our history
MAS Foundation was established in December 2019.
"It’s a long-term journey. And it might not happen in our generation, it could be in our children's or our mokopuna’s generation. The important thing is that we keep moving forward." – Mafi Funaki-Tahifote, Head of Foundation.
Our communities
Read some ringa raupā (doers) stories of initiatives that we've supported.
"We recognise that the hard mahi is done by our communities and we are there to provide support in the background whether that be via putea (monetary) funding or non-financial support.” – Julie Wharewera-Mika, Head of Foundation.
We have an outstanding team of dedicated individuals.
"We’re a small organisation with only 3 part-time staff, so we have to be nimble, and because we’re new we have been able to start with a blank sheet of paper, to do things differently from other foundations.” – Jenny Gill, MAS Foundation Chair.
